Discover Actuarial Science

A free high school program for current sophomores and juniors who enjoy math, solving problems and helping people make good decisions. Participants will meet industry professionals, tour workplaces, compete to create solutions to business problems, experience campus life by staying in residence halls, and celebrate at a reception sponsored by the Nebraska Actuaries Club. Requirements include completing sophomore or junior year in spring 2026, completed Algebra II or teacher recommendation, and minimum 3.0 GPA. Nomination deadline is April 1, 2026.

Lab Science Investigations: Antimicrobial Resistance

A laboratory-based experience where students contribute to research on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) using the One Health approach. Students will become researchers working to understand AMR challenges, participate in laboratory techniques including microbiology plating, PCR, microscopy, and contribute to a global environmental surveillance project. The program includes seminars from world experts, lab explorations, and a capstone project. Students must be 16+ years old and have completed 1 year of high school biology. Program runs July 5-17, 2026 for residential students and July 6-17, 2026 for commuter students.
