Careers in Conservation Job Fair

Join us for the 2026 Careers in Conservation Job Fair hosted by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District! The event features dynamic employer booths, engaging breakout sessions, and direct access to real career opportunities across conservation and related fields. Participating organizations include Big Sur Land Trust, California State Parks, East Bay Regional Park District, and many others. Breakout sessions cover topics like field maintenance careers, conservation through community engagement, ranger life, internships, and innovation in conservation. The facility is ADA accessible, and accommodations can be requested two weeks in advance.

April Stewardship Event

Come help out at Lost Valley Prairie SNA, a beautiful bedrock bluff prairie featuring a series of limestone ridges and dry swales that a number of remarkable plant and animal species call home. Join the Lost Valley Prairie Site Stewards in searching for and removing invasive species. Tools, instructions, and good camaraderie will be provided. Bring water, lunch, and dress for working in the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footware appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails or recreational facilities on this site. Registration in-advance is required, and the event will be capped at 20 attendees.

6th Annual BioBlitz at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory

Join researchers in collecting, observing, and recording biodiversity at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory. Your findings will inform a major research project and contribute to multi-year documentation of how diversity changes at this site over time.
