ALP - ESL Day Class In-Person

The Adult Literacy Program offers free ESL, GED, and Citizenship classes. These classes are in-person, hybrid, or on Zoom. Classes are held during the day and in the evening. Classes run on the academic calendar year, from late August to early June. This program supports Basic Literacy as defined by the PA Forward Star Program. Louisiana 4-H Leadership Board Applications

The Louisiana 4-H Leadership Board application process opens in March and closes May 1, 2026. Applicants must be enrolled in 9th to 12th grade during the 2026-2027 school year. Each parish is allowed three applicants per ambassador and board. Each applicant may apply for two boards but can only serve on one State Leadership Board. Applications must be initiated by the 4-H Parish Agent within 4-HOnline system. Available boards include: Citizenship Board, Executive Board, Fashion Board, Food & Fitness Board, Shooting Sports Board, STEM Board, and various Ambassador programs (Equine, Livestock, Wetland).

Nevada Girls State

American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Girls State program offering training in democratic citizenship processes. Participants study City, County, and State government by setting up and administering their own miniature governments. Activities include legislative sessions, campaigning, party meetings, debating, voting, and parliamentary procedure instruction. Students are divided into two political parties, form committees, write legislation, and elect representatives.
