Fearless Science Forum: The Art of Seeing More

Science and art are often thought of as mutually exclusive passions, but creativity and curiosity entwine these disciplines. The Morgridge Institute for Research will partner with the University of Wisconsin-Madison to host our latest Fearless Science Forum, The Art of Seeing More, an exploration of the creative connections between science and art. Youth Sustainability Symposium

A day of hands-on learning, coastal exploration, sustainable art, and real-world decision-making on Bald Head Island. The symposium engages high school students in thought-provoking, real-world conversations about conserving and preserving coastal resources for future generations. Activities include speaker series, career panel discussions, barrier island management group activities, sustainable art-making workshops, service learning projects (marine debris cleanups, oyster shell bagging, sea turtle cage building, trail maintenance), and reflection activities. The day starts with a 9:00 AM ferry to Bald Head Island and ends with a 5:15 PM ferry back to Southport, NC.
