Penn Summer Science Initiative (PSSI) 2026
A four-week intensive materials science course from July 6-30, 2026 (Monday to Thursday) running approximately 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily. The course includes formal lectures from Penn faculty, materials science workshops, lab report writing seminars, projects, hands-on activities, and field trips. Students will get exposure to scanning electron and optical microscopies, thermal analysis techniques, mechanical testing, and x-ray diffraction. Applications closed. Students must have taken chemistry and/or physics courses, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and be within daily commuting distance of Penn's campus.
