Work Zone Safety Training Day - Monday, April 20, 2026; National Kickoff Event - Tuesday, April 21, 2026; Go Orange Day - Wednesday, April 22, 2026 (Demonstrate support for highway construction employees across the state by wearing orange apparel and posting Buckle Up! Phone Down photos on social media using the hashtags #NWZAW, #Orange4Safety, #BuckleUpPhoneDown, or #SDDOT); Social Media Storm - Thursday, April 23, 2026; Moment of Silence - Friday, April 24, 2026. Work zones play a critical role in the preservation and enhancement of our nation's roadways. Through National Work Zone Awareness Week, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and its partners hope to bring attention to the critical issue of road user and worker safety in and around work zones.

Transportation Extravaganza is a new summer day camp hosted at ASU for rising 11th and 12th-grade students who are curious about the world of transportation--from walking and biking to trains, cars, airplanes, and everything in between. Over five action-packed days, students will explore ASU labs, participate in hands-on transportation-related challenges, and take field trips to local transportation hubs and infrastructure sites, such as airports, traffic management centers, or engineering facilities. The program blends interactive workshops, team-building activities, and real-world experiences to help students discover the wide range of careers that keep people and goods moving--while also giving them a taste of college life and engineering innovation. Camp runs June 1st - June 5th, 2026.

A fun-filled overnight experience for students entering their senior year of high school. Participants will explore ways to design a futuristic city that sets a new standard for sustainability. Participants will work in small groups to design various city systems, including infrastructure, water and sewer systems, electricity, city services, recreation facilities, traffic systems, air quality issues, food and agriculture, and more. Students stay in dorms on the USU Logan campus. Two identical sessions available: June 18-19 and June 22-23, 2026.
