Experiential Learning in Emerging STEM Technologies

This new program focuses on developing a STEM workforce to meet the needs of emerging technologies of AI, cybersecurity, drone technology and the Internet of Things. A cohort of talented students with demonstrated potential in STEM excellence will be selected to develop their skills in these areas. The program runs weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and includes hands-on experience with state-of-the-art research facilities, flexible curricula with core and elective courses, and opportunities to present at science fairs and conferences. Core courses include Programming & Databases for All and Introduction to Cybersecurity Operations. Electives include Basics of AI with Privacy and Trust, Introduction to IoT, and Robotic Technology Fundamentals.

STEM Summer Camps for K-12 Students

Virginia Tech's immersive STEM Summer Camps offer hands-on introduction to robotics, coding, cybersecurity, drone technology, and space science. Camps include: Engineer a Robot Limb (Free for grades 2-5, June 30 - July 2), Flight Lab: Drone Dynamics in Action (Middle and high school dates through July), Data & Sensor Technology Exploration (Grades 6-12, July sessions), and Science of Flight and Data Detectives (Grades 2-5).
