Writing With Pictures: A Multimodal Introduction to Writing for College

This two-week online pre-college course introduces high school students to the expectations, strategies, and creative possibilities of college-level writing. Students will explore how writing today involves more than words - writers compose with images, design, sound, layout, and digital tools. Through daily workshops, peer activities, and guided practice, students will learn the foundations of academic writing, while also developing multimodal compositions using tools like Canva. Live sessions meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 12:30 - 2:30pm EST. Course runs June 28 - July 11, 2026. Students will create a polished multimodal final project in Canva, accompanied by a written reflection explaining their design and writing choices.

Music Technology and Production Camp

This one-week camp focuses on approaches to music production for children 13-18. Whether they are beginners or experienced creators, campers will have opportunities to learn and/or develop their craft through working on solo and collaborative projects in such areas as songwriting, audio production, sound design, and effects processing. Each camper will create at least five different audio projects throughout the week. The camp will culminate with a concert featuring original work created during the camp. Topics include recording, composition/songwriting, beat creation, collaborative audio production, studio recording, effect processing, and mixing/mastering. Daily schedule runs from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM with evening activities. Overnight option available with residential assistants at 8:1 ratio.
