Massachusetts STEM Week 2026

Massachusetts STEM Week 2026 runs October 19-23, 2026, with the theme 'STEM starts now.' Child care providers, schools, colleges, employers, and community organizations across the Commonwealth come together to provide hands-on learning experiences, introduce learners to STEM professionals and careers, and demonstrate how STEM skills are used to solve real-world challenges. The week includes STEM Design Challenges funded by nearly $465,000 in grants to seven nonprofit organizations, engaging more than 10,000 PK-12 students. Fields covered include advanced manufacturing and biomanufacturing, environmental engineering, clean energy and sustainability, robotics, space science and aerospace, and accessibility. Grants aim to expand access among historically underrepresented students including students of color, girls, low-income and first-generation students, English learners, and students with disabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Engineering Navigator uses generative AI to search the internet, extract program details, and organize them into a centralized, user-friendly platform. With filters for location, topic, age range, and date, the dashboard is modeled on familiar tools like Airbnb and Zillow. It is accessible to all users—regardless of technical fluency—and provides a one-stop resource for discovering engineering-related learning experiences.

Search events by location using a zip code or city. Filter events by school grade, type of event (camp…), and delivery method (online or in-person). You can even search past events to find engineering programming ideas near you. In the first phase, the Engineering Navigator has been asked to find a higher number of events in North Carolina to showcase the Navigator’s awesome power.

If you would like to manually add an event, please use the “Submit an Event” button on the Navigator. This will direct our AI bot to go to your exact URL and pull approved events into the database. Our bot will remember your site and return to it in future database refreshes.

The Navigator is trained to pull in Engineering and STEM-related education events for audiences of all ages. With back-up from human moderators, we hope to help users find real and appropriate events around them. However, if an event seems suspect or inappropriate, we encourage you to flag it using the XX tool in the Navigator. A human moderator will review the event and add training to the bot to improve its performance in the future.

We would love to hear from you! Send us a message if you have any questions or concerns. You can also provide feedback anonymously using the feedback form on the Navigator’s search page.
