14th Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest & 8th Annual Water Source Protection Video Contest

Two contests for Maui County students: Water Conservation Poster Contest for grades K-6 and Water Source Protection Video Contest for grades 7-12. Theme: 'Ola I Wai - Water is Life'. Poster requirements: horizontal on 11x17 white paper. Video requirements: 3-5 minutes in .mp4 format. Prizes include gift cards ranging from $125-$350, with $500 for school with most poster entries. Video entries via Microsoft 365 must submit email by March 26 at 4:30 PM.

Green Zone Environmental Program (GZEP)

The D.C. Department of Energy and Environment's (DOEE) Green Zone Environmental Program offers youth (ages 14-24) environmental education and career training in sustainability, energy, water, wildlife and natural resources. Participants will install rain gardens, work in native plant greenhouses, collect seeds and remove invasive plants, maintain trees and beautify neighborhoods, provide conservation services across the District, and learn from DOEE professionals, Master Naturalists and environmental experts. Participants develop job skills in environmental science, sustainability and urban conservation while making direct community impact. Dates: June 22 - July 27

Resilient Futures Teacher Workshop 2026

Three-day in-person teacher workshop for middle school and high school educators. Engage with sessions on education resources, including scientist talks, lab tours, and networking sessions by CEEE, NOAA, and friends. Topics include climate science, natural hazards, water resources, climate mental health, data literacy, and more. Participants will leave with classroom-ready lessons and activities. Can receive a 20-hour PD certificate OR 1-2 Continuing Education credits from the University of Colorado Boulder upon course completion. Participants who complete the course will receive a gift card.
