For one night only, the world-renowned composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi will lead the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra in a momentous program featuring his own classical works and a symphonic suite based on Princess Mononoke. Join us for the second performance of the South Dakota Symphony Youth Orchestra's 2025-26 season. Featuring performances with our Youth Orchestra, Philharmonia, Sinfonia and Prelude Strings groups. The SDSYO is designed to enhance young musicians' talents in an inspiring and educational group setting. Young People's Concert

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra presents a wide array of imaginative and illustrative music in this year's Young People's Concert. Three performances available: 9:30 AM, 11:15 AM, and 1:15 PM. Guest conductor Peter Folliard guides students through the music using narration and an introduction to the instruments. This program is unique in that it is part of the Sioux Falls Public School System's curriculum. Registration deadline for financial aid is January 23, 2026. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A special addition returning this season, the Concert For Kids & Families will delight audiences of all ages. Designed to ignite your imagination, this 60-minute concert is a great introduction to the orchestra. Featuring Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf, a 'symphonic fairy tale for children' teaching children to identify orchestra instruments. Program includes Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro Overture, Hummel's Trumpet Concerto, and Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
